If you want to get healthier and learn how to do yoga but have limited time and money, this course can help! Think about it this way, the money for private lessons is well over $60, and in one private session or even 10 yoga classes, you will not get all of what you get in this self-paced, simple course. I made this beginner yoga course because I believe that individuals would benefit from it. I love the fact that it is a "go-at-your-own-pace" type of course. Here are some questions and scenarios that can help you decide if this course is right for you. Are you afraid of going to a yoga class or just do not know where to start? Or maybe you have gone, or are going, but it just does not make sense to you how the instructor is formatting the class. Maybe, you work out at home, and the sequencing is just too confusing. I will briefly go over what yoga entails, and the benefits surrounding this ancient practice. I have designed this course to show you the sequence of sun salutations A and B that most classes follow in some way or another. I will also go over props and how to use them, so that you can modify your postures in class and know exactly how to listen to your body so you benefit from the practice. At the end of this course, my hope is that you will feel confident at your own home, or in the studio doing yoga. I will teach you different breathing practices, a simple and sweet meditation, and a few chants . After learning and practicing these skills, my hope is that you will become more acquainted with the voice of your own body and nervous system, and be able to navigate life in a way that feels more pleasurable, and safe to you. Items needed for this course: yoga mat Optional items: 1-2 yoga blocks ( substitute heavy books), blanket, yoga strap (substitute long scarf or belt).
