Some of my clients have been expressing that they have been having a super lack of energy! So I’ve come up with a few tips that would help you energize your body throughout the entire day. I would love to hear what other people do in order to keep their energy up throughout the day, shoot me an email!

Increase Oxygen and Get Moving

If you tend to work away your day without moving from one spot, then beware, this may be creating stagnant energy. If you aren’t able to remember to move around, just set a timer on your phone and take a few minutes to notice your breath and move every part of your body from head to toe. Maybe take a walk around your building or better yet, go outside. Take a moment to let the elements touch your skin, the wind and/or sun ( or if you are inside notice the air touching your skin), and hear the birds chirping ( or other sounds). During this time breathe, you can even count for 5 to 6 seconds in and out, do this a few times. There are videos online, my YouTube or others that have breathing techniques that you could check out too. This goes without saying, if you are a smoker that is something that would be lowering your energy.

Food and drinks

Caffeine has its place sometimes, but overdoing it actually doesn’t produce more energy, and it depends on the type of caffeine that you’re consuming. I used to consume no more than 3 cups of caffeine a day. When I did, I often made sure that one of those was green tea. Now, in my morning decaf coffee, I really want that to be a lasting nutrition for my body, so sometimes I add organic collagen (types 1-5), cold-pressed coconut oil, organic grass-fed unsalted butter, organic cinnamon, organic unsweetened almond milk, and this actually sustains me for a few hours during my morning routine .

Stay away from heavy foods until supper, for example, cheese, bread, pasta, starches, fried food, etc. These types of food with gluten, dairy, and fried should be lessened or avoided because they can cause more harm than good, such as inflammation in the body ( which happens to EVERYONE who eats these things, just some cases are more severe). So, if you are eating a lot of these items, switch it out with different foods such as gluten-free options, or organic dairy (maybe making sure it is from an A2 cow if possible because our bodies have an easier time digesting this type of dairy).

Eat for energy, meaning that you may be eating raw or “live “foods instead. Basically look for foods that haven’t been cooked, are organic, the meats are grass-fed, unsalted nuts and seeds, a healthy power bar (look at the ingredients ), or maybe some cold-pressed juice. If you don’t like or are unable to eat raw then add in cooked food that is the color of the rainbow.

Stay away from or reduce refined sugars (cane sugar, corn syrup) which are mostly found in cakes, cookies, cokes, etc. (instead opt for honey, stevia, agave, maple syrup, etc.). If you like drinking alcohol I would stay away from or lessen your alcohol intake. Alcohol does not produce good sleep, and we all need sleep to feel better.

Drink things like spring water ( 1/2 your body weight in ounces is the prescribed dosage of water, bring a reusable container with you everywhere, it’s helpful to always have H2O on the go). Braggs apple cider drinks (these are very good, they don’t taste like vinegar AND apple cider is a natural energy booster). Kombucha (get the ones with low sugar content or alternative sugars used, I love Jun kombucha). Kevita probiotic drinks (these don’t taste like vinegar ). Sparkling/ mineral waters, hot teas (which you can always make cold by placing them in the fridge or adding ice ), or cold-pressed juice are also options.

Self-full and the Environment

Remember to be “self-full”, this means you are nurturing yourself because you cannot give water from a well that is empty. Be without overworking yourself. You are important, and you’re worthy of taking care of yourself and your soul. Organize your thoughts and your day and be okay if you don’t get everything done. Reserve your energy.

Where are your energy drains? This manifests itself in emotions that are of lower vibrations, which include stress, anxiety, fear, overwhelm, etc. Are the people you’re around straining your energy? How can you better keep your energy to yourself and allow their energy to be their energy? Lower vibrational energies are not bad, but they are something we do not want to stay in for long periods of time or something we continually are feeling every day. See my other blog here talking about energy.

Add plants, living, breathing plants. Succulents and cacti are amazing at staying alive, you can even look online for low-lighting and minimal-care plants. These are beneficial to have in every space that you reside in because they clean the air, produce oxygen, and the color of having plants feed your chakras which keep your body healthy and happy.

Bedtime is a happy time, make sure the space you sleep has no/limited light coming in, ensure you’re getting enough sleep for you, and cut off screen time about 30 minutes before you go to bed. Your mind needs time to shut itself down. Good sleep is the ultimate factor in having enough energy to sustain you throughout the next day. A lot of our body types actually do need naps, if you have 10 to 15 minutes in your day, find somewhere to take a nap. Click here for my blog on sleep hygiene.

You can find the products that I have listed above at Natural Grocers, Market Street, and

H-E-B. If you are not around these types of stores just go to a store and look into their healthier sections.
